Tell me I won't have to turn his carseat soon!

Yesterday at the doc, J weighed 29lbs 12oz...at 14 months! I'm worried that he will reach the 33lb RFing weight limit of his BLVD too soon. I want to keep him RFing as long as possible. Tell me he will slow down!

Stop feeding him.

(Just kidding) :)

Is he walking yet I know they tend to slim down a little once they can walk/run around

All kids are different. My dd1 didn't slow down and was almost 40 lbs by age 3 (and had the corresponding height).

DD2 did slow down and hasn't gained really since she was 19 months old. She hit 29.5 lbs at 19 months and I was having the same panic attack that you are having and at 28 months she weighs... 30 lbs even, lol.

So, you never know. Like the pp said, they do tend to slow down on average in the second year when they are walking. :)

I wrote your exact post last spring. My DD who was about 10 months old weighed a whopping 27 lbs. There was NO way she'd even get to 18 months I thought.

Lo and behold, she is now 18 months and weighs a whole 24 pounds. I was very afraid back then. Looking back it's kind of funny I worried about something before it even happened, but that's how moms are!

Don't worry, he'll slow down. At 14ish months mine really slimmed down and even dropped a few pounds!

Even if he does surpass 33-35 pounds early, you did everything right. We always drill that you should rear face as long as possible, which is what you did!

Good luck!
