We bought an Evenflo Titan for DS for grandma's car a couple years ago (I think a more bare-bones model than the Elite I saw online now), and it is really difficult to adjust the harness straps. Especially for my mother who has rheumatoid arthritis. She has trouble unbuckling it as well. She uses the end of a small ice scraper.
Is there anything else affordable I can get that might be easier to use? She doesn't use it often at all (maybe a few times a year), but she watches him at our house, so occasionally she needs to take him somewhere.
DS is 3 yrs and 8 months old, and only about 30 lbs. I think he's about 36-38" tall (?). It's been a while since his last visit to the ped, so I'm not sure about the height.
Usually she leaves it too tight, if anything, so at least it's not too loose, but I don't want him being strangled in the seat either. Any help would be appreciated.
ETA: He is FF in her car.
ETAA: Ok, so I went to Wal-Mart to check out the seats they had, and the Graco Nautilus seemed like it would work pretty well for her. The design of the button and the chest strap seemed like it would be easiest for her, and the strap to adjust the harness straps wasn't difficult to pull. The strap to adjust the harness on the Titan is super tough, even for my DH. And tough to loosen as well.
