Here is an Evenflo Joyride infant seat from 1988. Vinyl cover with some kind of cloth like surface. You can see the little door with the directions still inside the back of the seat. Borderline classic. See my albums for the classics!

I have a newer one (well still old and expired just not 1988 old) sitting in my shed.

The sad thing is, I saw a JR the other day in use :( It wasn't this old though it had a base an the more plush blue/gray fabric. And to top it off the babies head was over the top.

That was the only seat that I could not figure out at my teach training. The harness adjuster is that o-ring thing and I could not for the life of me figure it out. I'm still bitter four years later...LOL!

Had that one too. Used it for Josh and William.

The adjuster wasn't bad once you got used to it. A PITA compared to a front adjust, but something that you got used to if you took the time to use it properly.

IIRC, some of the older Cosco seats adjust the same way (harness goes through the locking mechanism then doubles back to lock).

Brings back memories! I had a JoyRide for C as a baby. Used to use the compartment to carry extra diapers LOL.

I had a Joyride for my oldest daughter born in 1996. It was a hand me down from a cousin who used it with her baby born in 1989  I was a young and had no clue what I was doing. I'm pretty sure the o-ring was missing and I think I had it tied in a knot in the back . My seat had a plush blue cover. She rode in that until she was 10 months old and after that I used it as a spare once or twice, and she was definitely too tall for it. At 10 months old and 17 pounds she went ff in a Century 3000STE...it wouldn't fit rf in our two door car. DD #2 was much, much more fortunate!

I'd played around with one of those when my oldest was born (1999), we didn't own it, but I think a good friend at the time did.....
