It's so nice to tell this story to people who care and understand, because dh does neither! I'm just so excited that this happened today!
At my voucher site (which I've been doing since May), I mostly have either babies under a year, pregnant women, or kids too big to RF. I haven't had much of a chance to switch a kid around.
Today I had a mother with a 16 month old, 27 lbs. He was ffing in a CS. She made the appt with me to get him in the "next step up" car seat, which for her was one that harnesses to more than 40 lbs. I tried to explain to her that a) he should still be rfing and b) my HWH seats are for kids who have outgrown their current seats before they should be in boosters - and he doesn't qualify.
When I told her about rfing, she just couldn't understand why her doctor would tell her that her ds could ff at a year. (at her doctor)
Although her ds still fit in CS, he was on top slots at 16 months old (surprise, surprise), so I went ahead and helped her install a Scenera to give him tons more growing room. She agreed to try rfing! She was worried about him not liking it, but I told her to give him time.
Here's to hoping they keep him that way!
Oh, and another huge plus...the seats they had were actually installed correctly and not expired! One LATCH, one seatbelt - no movement! Kudos to dad for doing it right!
