Classicseats! Where are you!

Look at the question someone asked, how does it 'go on' the vehicle seat. Sure hope they're not asking because they want to USE it!

I'm think the seller was just listing things off of the tag, because the seat appears to be from the 60's. Maybe the "compliance with blah blah blah 1923" and whatever had to do with the materials that made the seat, the components, etc.

Just because they way it was worded made it seem like it referred to a law, and as far as I know, the earliest car-seat laws in the US weren't enacted until the late 1970's.

Actually, that seat very well could be from the '60's. I have a photo of myself as a baby/toddler in a seat very similar to that. It hooked onto the back of the front seat, so I was facing the front of the vehicle.

I looked pretty spiffy in my red pleather seat, if I do say so myself.... LOL.

What a cool looking seat! As far as I know, some of the first "real car seats" came out in the 1060's. I was actually sitting in one in 1967, one year after I was born (see below). It was rf and actually very similar to todays excellent rf seats. Even the description of safety features reads like something out of the Britax 2008 catalog. Wish my parents still had it. They keep all kinds of other crap, how come the car seat is not in the basement?
