Denim Scenera

I apologize if this has already been posted and I missed it.

I went to a seat-check event today, and the coordinator had just received a shipment of Sceneras - with denim covers! I'm in  ! I love the denim covers on the Britax seats, so I was thrilled to see one in a more affordable model. Not that I'll ever use one, but it was still cool.

Yes, of course, I got a pic:

And now I'm realizing I totally forgot to see if it was 100% cotton, or polyester, or a blend, or what.

I LONG for a denim seat. M's turbobooster is part denim and I just love it.

I think that with the new line of car seats that just came out (new Britaxes, new 3 in 1, new covers, etc) came a lot of really huge improvements. Higher weight limits on more seats, nicer covers, top slot usability on the 3 in 1, the CS is a fascinating concept and I'll be interested to see how well it works... little things like getting rid of the Scenera spikes... more HWH and ERF seats coming out... things really are coming along. This is what they mean when they say seats advance in the 6 years it takes for one to expire... to the untrained eye they look the same but even in a year they make a lot of improvements.

That, my friends, is quite possibly the world's. ugliest. carseat.

There. I said it. I'mm all for 100% cotton and all, and the denim on the MA doesn't bother me in the least. But that... wow. That's pretty dang hideous.

:ROTFLMAO: I love the honesty! :p

It definitely can't be the world's ugliest, though. I think that would have to go to one of the old Century Breverra seats - the one with the 80's-style parachute-pants cover, perhaps?

It's not my favorite, but I'm glad they are getting more cover choices out there. I swear when our walmart only had the 5 point in brown and the OHS in blue, people handed over the extra $10 for the OHS because it was a lot more attractive. Now I see the girly scenera *everywhere*! I'm actually starting to see more 5 points than OHS around town.

Ugliest of the 21st century. Although.. Evenflo and Graco both can crank out some UGLY infant seat covers. What gives? And, uh, the brown corduroy AO didn't exactly make me wet my pants. But really... that thing is... um... ugly.

Ugliest of the 21st century.

:D I think I can find some that are far uglier...
(all current or relatively recently discontinued covers)

Sunshine Kids Radian Princess

Britax Brooke, Britax Meghan, Britax Aloha, Britax Jessica

Graco Alesia, Graco Maggie, Graco Soft Jungle, Graco Jessa, Graco Safari Sun, Graco Rainbow Butterflies, Graco Very Important Princess, Graco Kasey, Graco Chelsea, Graco Victoria

Evenflo Big Brown Plain, Evenflo Cumberland, Evenflo Little Pink Kisses, Evenflo Hula Hoop, Evenflo Blue Lattice, Evenflo Harrisburg, Evenflo Elena

Cosco Echelon, and a bunch of others (I can't remember the names)

It looks nice and soft. I hate their fugly new pink cover on their combo seat. I am not a denim fan, but I've seen worse. It would be easy to put patches on to cutesy it up a bit on a + note! There's a thought....

Are you this blunt IRL? I bet you're a blast to hang out with. :)

I wonder if that cover only comes on the institutional version of the Scenera. I've seen it before at the seat checks where we distribute free/low cost seats (and pretty much everyone gets one) and I know that we don't have the retail versions of any seats.

Did you take a picture of the ugly Evenflo, Debbie? That cover was so ugly.

The denim cover looked much better in person than in the photo(or maybe it was the fact that it was next to the ugly Evenflo). :)

No, I didn't. Trust me folks, that one was WAY fuglier than the denim! Green - like, lime green - with plaid. I mean, it was like they were TRYING to make it fugly. This wasn't a matter of preference or style; I've never seen anything like it matched together.

And I agree, I think the denim definitely looked better in person. Maybe I should have hauled it out into the sun to take the pic?

I like the denim Scenera! Now if they would just tack a $.25 piece of energy absorbing foam around the head I would have very positive feelings about that seat.

Speaking of ugly seats, though, I think my poop brown, dirt cheap, Target clearance EFTA is absolutely hideous.
