Is this a safe Booster seat?

Yes. They haven't been made in eight years, though, so I don't know how safe it is. They're made of foam, rather than plastic, and I don't know if they expire. *I* wouldn't use it for a few reasons, but yes, it passed testing.

They've been discontinued a long time and have no side impact protection... I suppose they met federal frontal safety impact standards, but I wouldn't put my kid in one.

Interesting as a historical piece, though :)

Oh, I've seen one of those in person before. They look and feel like those little foam chairs that I have for my kids to watch tv in, except with a higher back. No guides for the belt, really smooshy and bendy. It seems like it would be extremely comfy for a kid, but also seems extremely sketchy safety-wise.

Oh, and I just wanted to mention, these are still being made and sold. Here's a link: http://www.onestepahead.com/catalog...Id=85184&categoryId=85220&subCategoryId=86212

Not that I would buy one. ;) I can't believe someone would pay $90 for this thing. You could get a rockin 'real' booster for that much. They have the Compass B530 for sale right next to it for the same price. I hope ppl on their website see that and choose the Compass!

Oh, and also, these things are HUGE. Pretty much the same size and shape as a Regent.

LOL, you're right, the Kangaroo was just the older Teddy Bear. What freaks me out about these is no solid belt guides on the hips. Even the Parkway has hard plastic on the wings to keep the belt low in a crash. I wonder what the DOM would be on these if any one of us bought one? (probably about 2003, lol).
