Question Which seat for primary vs. backup? (or, how important is EPS foam?)

So I now have 2 seats for ds...an AOE, and a titan. Right now he fits in both of them perfectly, ...the AOE was his primary seat, and I just got a titan for $50 to be a backup. He is currently 7 months old, about 17 pounds, about 24 inches, and Rfing, of course. The main reason I got the titan over a scenera, was the EPS foam.
And now..I started thinking..his AOE doesn't have any EPS foam...I thought it did, I didn't realize some models had it and some don't, and it was only after purchase and destruction of the box it came in (hence no return) that i came to know that my particular model does NOT have the EPS foam.
Anyway...now i'm torn..should I use the titan as the primary seat and relegate the AOE to secondary status? Or use it in the secondary vehicle(s) since the promary vehicle is much safer then they are??
the primary vehicle is a 2007 kia optima, with side curtain airbags, IIHS ratings of good, acceptable and good in front, side, and rear crashes. He is in this car almost daily, for 20-120 minutes of in-town driving.
the secondary vehicle is an old, 92 ish conversion van. Will be driven 1-2 times per week in this for 20-90 minutes of in-tiown driving. It is possible the secondary vehicle might occasionally be a 98 metro also. both of these vehicles have no airbags and porr crash test ratings.
The seats are an AOE made last Dec, with no EPS foam, and a titan just made in June, with EPS foam. Ds fits great in both, and both install equally well in all vehicles. Ds likes both seats.

Which would you choose?

i would personally leave the AOE in the primary vehicle since it has side curtain airbags and good crash ratings. then i would put the titan in the spare vehicle.

Yeah, I think I'd do that too (most protective seat in least protective car)...may not really make any difference, but it makes ME feel better when I do it for MY kids, lol.
