Impressed with the Uptown

I was trying to find a Graco Cargo Booster to take on vacation (need to do a 2 carseats/1 adult in backseat) but I couldn't. Today I went to Big Lots and lo and behold, there was an Uptown for $65, it is only 17" wide, and (the truly amazing part) DS fits in it. Yes--seriously. My (slender) 4 year old, 16" torso, 40.5" tall 38 pound kid fits in it. *boggle* I was going to pass it on to someone else when we get back from vacation, but now I think I'll keep it in case we have another baby! That is *amazing* for a non-Britax convertible.

Oh, just in case you think I'm insane buying a seat for vacation--if I didn't have a narrow seat for him I'd have to take our car and that'd cost $60 at least in gas :rolleyes: so this way I don't have to drive and he has an extra seat :)

I also just bought two of these at BigLots for 65$, they are for their Gma's car, but I am using them when I fly instead of our EFTA's. I think a great buy.

do all biglots have these regularly or is it just a by chance thing. i always see alpha omega seats and eddie bauer things there. i have been looking for an uptown and by this post my almost 5 year old would probably fit in there.

We've only got one BL here, but from what I've heard on the boards, most people seem to be able to find them at BL. I'd call in advance though if it's a long drive.

I loved the uptown as well until the foam on ours separated after just a week of use. I returned it on Monday and I'm still trying to decide if I should buy another one or just find something different.

There are 2 big lots near me and I've seen them at both. =)

I love my Uptown so much I sold my FPSVD to use it as a main seat. I've had it for almost 2 years and have travelled with it with no problems.

There are 4 Big Lots near me and only one DOESN'T have the Uptown for sale.
