hi
after getting great advice in the car seat forum about which seats to purchase for visiting my family, i have some questions about doing the install.
my brother and father will have to install the seats in a 2007 highlander middle row. neither of them have any experience doing this so i would like to have some expert advice to give them since we arrive late in the evening and they have to pick us up with the seats installed already.
here are the stats:
dc1 47 months, approx 38 inches tall and weighs approx 36lbs, torso 14" if i measured correctly.
dc2 27 months, is approx 28-30 lbs and approx 33 inches tall, torso about 13.5 .
dc3 is 4.5 months in a RF snugride.
we would put dc 1 and 2 FF in the nauti and scenera outboard positions
and the snugride in the middle.
1. i managed to measure dc1 in a floor sample nautilis, he could get by with the 2nd tallest slot for the harness straps, is it ok if we just do the top slot to make sure there is plenty of room or would there be too much room above the shoulder?
2. i couldnt find a floor sample of the scenera so im not sure where we should put the harness straps, can we put them at the top slot for dc2 regardless of his height? or would that leave too much room above his shoulders.
3. to latch or not to latch? should we use the latch feature in the highlander to secure each seat? and are there tethers too that we should use?
i think thats it, unless you feel that there is more we need to know. and i appreciate your advice in advance.
