So....what would you do?(carseat related) Which seat?

My friend has a just turned 5 year old little girl who is 44 pounds, 44 inches. She wants a back up seat for her husband's van that would be used like 4 times a month at most. Right now she has a regent in her vehicle(finally one friend who listed to me and didn't go to a booster).

Well, she said she doesn't trust her in a booster(thanks to the video's I sent her). Her torso is about 15-16 inches I am guessing. A lil' shorter than my 5 1/2 years olds.

So...what seat for her husband's vehicle? I suggested the nautilus, but she hopes not to spend 150.00 on a seat. Any suggestions? Anywhere the nautilus is cheap now? Do you thin the frontier will go CHEAP or another Regent during the september sale?

Thanks...and if a booster....what kind?

I think the nautilis or the apex65 are her best bets if she doesn't want a booster. An EFTA would probably work as well, if she has another child to pass it on to, otherwise I think it wouldn't be as cost effective.

I don't think the Regent or the Frontier will go as low as the Nautilis in theSept. sell. I got my Regent for $190 the last sale and I know a few got them a little less than that, but not the $150-$160 of the Nautilis.

ETA: I don't know much about boosters, but if I was her I would like to get the Monterey so that it would last a long time and be the last seat I needed to buy for that car.

Thanks! :)
She is the only child, so no one to pass the seat down too(i know I thought about getting her one of the 33.00 ETA's that I found, but she was just at the top harness height. She grows fast too!

It sounds like the EFTA wouldn't be a great option for her then.

If the need something cheaper than the Nautilis I think their only option would be the Apex then, if they have a high enough back or a booster.

(someone please correct me if I am wrong )
