A town about a hour away is having Carseat Check Event thing in a Kroger Parking lot, in October
So If I can I’m going to go but I wanted to know what happens, do they just look at you’re seats? do they take them out and check them? and do I need to bring the kids with me. it's on a Saturday so they would be with their Fathers.

Thanks for any Info.

You should have your children along if possible. They will check to see how the seat fits the child and look at your install, remove the seat to get the model number and DOM to to check for recalls, make any necessary adjustments, and then walk you through reinstalling.

The objective is to teach you so that you are prepared to correctly install/use your seat without help -- it does your child no good if the only one who knows how to do it is the technician....

Bring your child as well as both carseat + vehicle manuals.

And make sure they do these. Some techs have a nasty habit of skipping one or all of these steps. Though if it's an honest to goodness check, especially if it's by SafeKids, there is paperwork to be filled out that covers this. But make sure they go through it, and they have you reinstall the seats yourself and you leave knowing how to do it, not just that they're in there just fine.
