orbit toddler car seat & airplanes

Does anyone actually know firsthand if the Orbit Toddler Car Seat will fit on a coach class airline seat? Particularly a window seat, as that seems to be what the airlines recommend/require. The orbit website info says it is airline approved, and by my own measurements it looks like it should fit, but it would be very reassuring to hear if anyone has actually done so.
Thanks

I don't know of any one of 'us' who has one of these seats, but from pictures I've seen of it it looks at least as small or smaller than some pretty large seats we've all hefted aboard planes (like the monstrous Evenflo Triumph Advance). The usual tricks for ease of installation would include lifting the armrest up next to the seat, reclining the airplane seat so that you can upright it again after installing with the belt so you can get the seat tighter, and making sure you can lift the buckle flap when it's in the seatbelt path, so it doesn't get completely stuck.

It is wider than my Britax. The footprint of it is about the same size but the carseat itself is HUGE!!! Thats without the base but install without the base for the toddler seat is a PITA!! MAJORLY! With the base, amazing!!!!! The carseat is also A LOT heavier than our Britax! We have an Orbit Toddler and I wouldn't travel with it unless I was going by car LOL

I've used the orbit toddler car seat in coach on an airplane and it was super easy. It fit the seat no problem either. It's a no brainer traveling with or without a car. I even travel with the base if we have a car. Security staff are amazed at the quality of the car seat, "this must be the Rolls Royce of car seats". Gate check attendants do ask if the car seat is made of concrete... or something of that nature. The way I see it, substance and quality go hand in hand.

We love our orbit and love the people at the company!

That is an utterly ridiculous thing to say, IMO. I can think of one manufacturer that offers "quality and substance" but wouldn't get .50 cents from me right now. Best not judge a seat by it's weight, reputation or otherwise boastful marketing. Stick around and we'll whip you right into shape in that regard. :)
