"Playdate" at Target and Kmart

A friend(who loves playing with seats as much as I do) and I went to Target and Kmart today to check out the new seats. Pardon the crappy pics, but just wanted to show what we found. :) My son(pictured) is 13 mos., 21 lbs., and 31.5".

Mint Chocolate EFTA

TrueFit(hated the harness length adjuster btw)

Apparently so did he. LOL

Graco Nautilus(I was actually very surprised by this seat and couldn't believe how well he fit). Headwings weren't down all the way, FYI.

Safety 1st Avenue(we weren't impressed with this one other than the pattern)

I was definitely most impressed by the GN. I've already been planning into the future and was thinking of a Frontier when the time came, but now I'm not so sure!

Ooooh - I like that Avenue - it's backwards from the Sears one (which is brown outside, pink inside).

Thanks for the pics!

So, did the Avenue come in a plastic travel bag like a lot of the Dorel seats are now? That's what it looks like you are holding back in that picture, I could be wrong. Also, looks like they moved the harness adjuster up quite a bit on the Avenue versus the Uptown.

Hi :happy-wavehello: I'm the carseat obsessed friend that went with her to Target and KMart today. :)

We saw the Hannah MA which is SO cute!

The Avenue was just ok. It had high bottom slots. Like 9 inches or so. It did not look like it would fit a newborn. And the harness adjuster was kind of a PITA. I'm not sure if the plastic bag was a travel bag or just the way it was wrapped.

The TrueFit was nice. HUGE but really nice. The infant padding was awesome. I liked the harness height adjuster, it was so easy. The harness pull adjuster was kind of weird. It would pull smoothly for a bit and then get to a point where it was kind of ratchety. It seems like the straps could get twisted easily on the bottom, especially with the continuous harness.

The Nautilus was nice. I liked the Reese fabric. I wish it didn't fit a 1 year old so well, but that was my only complaint about it.

Oh btw, they had about 5 OHS Scenera's on sale at Kmart.:doh:

The Nautilus was nice. I liked the Reese fabric.

Isn't it funny how different people are? I didn't like the Reese fabric at all. I thought it felt cheap. I like its "cousin" fabric (Galaxy) much more. It is funny how different people are.

Thanks for sharing the pictures! I love the pattern on the Safety First Ave!

I am not a huge fan of the Nautilis, mostly because I don't like any of the covers. I am hoping Graco puts abetter cover on it soon. I think overall it is a great seat though,

I love the Truefit.

I'm with you. I felt it yesterday hoping that I would like it better than the meshy one we have, but it felt really cheap to me. I also liked the Galaxy alot better.

Charlie is so cute,

I love the pink Avenue.
I can't believe how well he fits in the Nautilus, you'd thank he would be too small.
I wish the store's around here had good seats.

Thanks! I'm pretty fond of him.

As for the Nautilus, Charlie is ALL torso, so I think that's why he fit so well. He's long and skinny, just like his Daddy.

I have to pass judgement on the Avenue when I see it in person... and I will FIND a reason to check it out soon.

I love the Nautilus... I don't think you can go wrong with it OR the frontier... I haven't seen the new reese fabric, but I really like the mesh ones... no complaints there.

I totally agree. I don't like the Reese fabric at all.

Thanks for the pics! He looks so tiny in the true fit.

Thanks for the pics, adorable model! I'm going to get the Avenue I think to replace our Uptowns that were in the crash. I'm digging the pink!

We just got a Reese GN, I really like it. :) Better yet, AJ loves it! He wanted a fuzzy seat and this is what they had available for the GN, so that's all that matters.

Looks like he really likes the cup holder on the Nautilus! That was what sold my DS on it too, as soon as I sat him in it he started eating a pretend snack from the cup. Of course now he wants animal cookies or a water bottle or something in there every time we got out. The good news is it's nice and smooth in there so when some idiot leaves chocolate in there in the middle of summer it's easy to get clean with a couple of napkins and a baby wipe :)

I agree that the fabric is kind of odd, feels a bit rough to me, but my little guy seems to like it fine. He doesn't seem to get as sweaty in it either; he used to get soaking wet if he fell asleep in his comfort sport.

Thanks for all the pictures! I also LOVE to go play with all of the seats at Target as they always have a good selection, I just wish they would get the new AOE in as I want to play with one of those BAD! Anyhow....I LOVE my TF & LOVE the adjuster & everything about it. Now to install it!

Also it helps that the model is a doll! I to wanted to say that I was really suprised at how well my DS fit into the Nautilus at a little over a year. I acutally considered purchasing it for him, but decided on the MA instead, glad I did as I could not have turned him back RF if not! BTW: my DS only has a 12.5 inch torso & he fit GREAT in the Nauti.
