Question Recline angle in van

Hi--I'm installing my triumph advanced in my sister's van. The seat's in nice and tight, but the angle looks a little too upright even for my 13 month old.

Can I recline the captain's chair to get a better angle? I'll check her owner's manual, but wanted to see if there's any general rule about this. She has a town and county van.

Thanks in advance for your help!!

Is it ff or rf? It's 4-5 times safer for her to still be rf at that age.

If rf, which recline position do you have the base in? Did you try a rolled towel or a pool noodle?

It does sometimes help to get a rf seat more reclined if you move the base as close to the seat bight as you can and then push down over where the child's bottom goes as you tighten the belt. However, pushing the EFTA into the seat bight can make accessing the knobs difficult.

Chrysler van manuals say to recline the captain's chairs a click or two for better access to the lower anchors. Doing so may allow you to get the base closer to the bight without completely impeding access to the adjuster knobs.

so, in general I don't see how reclining the vehicle seat will help much in achieving a better rf recline in most cases. However, it might help a little with that specific seat and vehicle. :)

Hi--
I forgot to say that it's rear facing, and I have the car seat it in the most reclined position. I'll try the noodle or towel. I checked the manual, and it is fine to recline to seat, but you're right. It doesn't really impact the recline angle.

Sorry I couldn't thank you sooner--we were away without home internet access (can't believe how much I take that for granted now!).

Thanks so much,
Ellen
