More Room?

In dh's 09 Murano (and he is NOT ALLOWED to buy anything else, ever) we have 2 GNs installed outboard with Latch. Does anyone know if I will get slightly more room in the center seat if I do seatbelt installs? I really don't want to play with it right now as it took both of us to tighten the GNs enough so they wouldn't slip on the leather seats, but I like having the option of squeezing between the kids just in case we are transporting another adult without moving the carseats around.

To give you an idea of my size, I can sit comfortably in the MA and Apex...I can also fit easily between the Radian and MA in an 05 Highlander.

Generally yes. Look at where your outboard LATCH anchor is in relation to the seatbelt anchor. Unless the seat is heavily sculpted, you can usually slide a seatbelt install closer to the door.

Check the LATCH weight for the Nissan too. It's either 40 or 48, so sooner or later you'll have to install A's Nauti with the seatbelt anyway.

The Nissan doesn't say anything about the weight in the owner's manual....grrrrr! How do I know at what point to stop using LATCH then?

Nissan defers to the carseat manufacturer, which is 48 lbs in harnessed mode on the GN. Once they are using them as boosters, you can use LATCH to secure them rather than buckling in unoccupied seats.

Here's a list of LATCH limits by vehicle manufacturer- http://www.saferidenews.com/pdfs/pg_126_max_wt_07.pdf

and yes, using seatbelts rathter than LATCH generally allows you to install closer to the doors and leaves more room for the center position. It also helps when you are trying for three across.
