My oldest DS age 8 goes to Illinois to stay with his fathers side every summer for a month. This summer he went for a month and a half so my mom could bring him home and visit us for awhile. I sent him in a HBB because I was sure they would not be able to get his Regent installed right in the different cars he was going to be in. He came home last night and I found out that the whole time he was there, they didn't have him in anything but a seat belt! 
They have the 8 or 80lb rule there and they went by it! (We go by 4'9, but he will be in a booster longer than that even.) Then I found out he also rode in the front seat of a truck. And it had a back seat he could have been in. My heart about stopped. Thank god nothing happened and he doesn't go back for 11 months. I wish more people took the time to learn about car safety. I know him fathers side won't even if I send them info.
