How much would you pay for used Marathon?

My friend has a 2.5 year old Marathon (in good cond., never been wrecked) she is selling. She told me to make her an offer. How much would be a fair price considering it has 3.5 years of "life" left and I can get a 2008 online for $209.99 w/ free ship? I am going to use this as a spare seat in my hubby's truck...

I would take the price of it new and divide that by 6 to figure out how much it is worth for every year of life it has (6yrs) and then subtract however many years it has already used up (and maybe a little for wear) and then ask or offer the left over total.

ie. If MA is $300 (like in Canada) divide that be 6 and it is worth $50/year. So if it is 2.5 years old then take off $125 and ask $150-$175 depending on the condition of the cover and what not.

I would offer $125.

Here is my thought:
$209 (sale priced)/6 years= $34.83 a year X 3.5 years left= $121 and some change

Really? Wow! I was thinking more like $50. Things go way down in value when selling used, especially 2.5 years used (think cars, electronics, and basically any other item out there) but maybe I'd consider offering her $75...

You guys are more generous than I am, I guess...that, or I'm just a major cheapo!

She said she'd sell for $100 and she's already replaced the cover once (she says she washes them weekly and she has 5 kids???) So I'll buy it!
