chicco keyfit questions

my 1 yr old puked in her britax roundabout. i got sidetracked & completely forgot about it over night b/c i had to give her a bath, then my 3 yr old got sick & i completely forgot about the carseat. i'm going to work on attempting to clean it.. it expires jan 2010 so a new cover is out of the question.
my neighbor let me buy her chicco keyfit (manufactored in 2006) for $20 bought new by her, no accidents or anything.. i see her car everyday so i'm positive of that. (she tried to give it to me, i insisted on paying her something, so she said $20).
my 13 month old is 18 lbs & 28 inches. i know she still fits in it. what is the max weight & height for this carseat? also can i use the head support if she is on the top harnass slots? how do i go about doing that? i'm so clueless. this carseat is nice, but a little confusing w/ no manual.

The weight limit should be on the stickers on the side. I'm not sure if the Keyfit 30 was out by 2006, so it's likely a 22 lb seat. It is outgrown by height when the top of her head is 1" from the top of the shell when measuring as seen in this thread- http://www.car-seat.org/showthread.php?t=30201

I don't see the KF22 manaul on Chicco's website, but here's the 30. I believe the recommendations about the headrest would be the same.

Also, keep in mind that you'll probably want to keep her rf longer than this seat will allow. You may want to check out the
Safety 1st Uptown or Avenue as a good budget priced seat with 35 lb rf limit, decent padding and relatively tall harness slots and shell.

Lots of us sell Roundabout covers down in the Shopping/Swap section, you might look down there for a deal so you can use that Roundabout a bit longer (it's arguably the easiest to use convertible on the market and your kiddos are little, I'd hate for you to not get to use it for it's last 18 months!)

Good luck with the Key Fit, once you figure out those issues, you'll love it for hopefully a month or so, my dd outgrew it (head within an inch of the top of the seat shell), when she was 30 inches and 20 pounds at 11 months old.
