I just read on the Baby Bargains blog that Graco has acquired Teutonia, and is marketing a new line in the US. I was browsing Teutonia's site and found this:
t-taria 32 infant car seat
It lists as 5-32 lbs., and $190. It comes in nine solid colors.
It looks like a dressed-up Safeseat to me, but it could be a very nice high end infant seat that will last longer than the Peg Perego SIP seat.
ETA: I found pictures of the base. It definitely looks like a SS1:
