Question Evenflo Titan Convertible CarSeat

I have some questions about the Evenflo Titan Convertible Car Seat.

My parents watch my daughter one day a week while I work part-time. They want to get a car seat for their car.

They saw the Evenflo Titan advertised and thought that might be good. They would rather not spend a ton of money but obviously want something safe.

My daughter is 10 months, 22lbs, around 28 inches.

She is obviously still rear facing and I plan/hope to keep her rear facing as long as possible. I read somewhere that the Evenflo Titan works better (something about the latch or straps or something like that) if it is front facing. Does anyone have personal experience with this?

Any feedback?

Thanks!
Joy

The Titan is fine, although it won't last to 50lbs. As for rearfacing vs forward facing, the only issue I know of with the Titan is that the seat has four slots, two for rearfacing and two for forward facing. Problem is that the two for rearfacing are really low and become uncomfortable for older kids, IME. A better choice would the the Safety 1st Uptown or Avenue(currently only available at Sears). Big Lots has the Uptown for $65.

Overall, the Titan is not terrible, but really not worth the $100 that most stores have it for.

I agree with the Uptown or Avenue. I had my 2y/o rf in the Uptown and she was very comfortable and had lots of growing room. You can order the Avenue on line, I haven't seen it in stores yet :)
