Question Headrest for 2005 Ford F250 Super Duty

I have a 2005 Ford F250 Super Duty Extended cab. The rear seats are flat across the top. When my 7 year old sits in her booster bottom her head is above the top of the rear seat back and on occasion when I accelerate from a stop her head will bump off the glass. It's soft but I don't like it and would like to find some kind of support. She is kind of tall and if we used the seat back attachment to the booster, her head is almost above that and it leans sort of forward making her uncomfortable. Any solutions?

Thank,

Doug

Tough call, we have an f150 with the same situation in the back. I had to buy my 8yo a taller highback booster mostly for this truck. She is in a backless in my vehicle(which has adjustable headrests) but in the truck she still uses the highback. I just can't imagine what would happen in an accident with their heads right against the glass like that.

The good thing is, there are lots of taller highback boosters on the market now! The Sunshine Kids Monterey is a really tall highback that would probably do a long time for you, and fits older kids really well. I agree, the seatbacks are terribly upright in the back of our truck as well, there is absolutely no recline, but maybe a taller booster will fix the situation of her head sitting forward. My DD still fits fine in her evenflo confidence, which is a fair bit cheaper, (but doesn't adjust nearly as tall as the monterey though), her head doesn't sit forward in that one. She will be 9 in November.

well, according to the instructions for backless boosters, if the tops of her ears are above the vehicle seat, then the seat is outgrown.

SO she needs a highback boster or other restraint unless she passes the test for fitting the seatbelt.

TO do so, she would need to be at least 4'9" tall.
