Buying a new Radian cover.... question

I was talking to my SIL about her seats, and she eventually wants to move her 5 year old into a booster, and move her daughter into the Radian that she has. She said that she really wants to get the pink cover for the seat, and said that she found it on the internet for $50 somewhere. We're in Canada for reference.

Now what I'm wondering is... is this the real seat cover.. OR is she talking about some after market product?

I've never checked into getting a new cover for my Radian.

I'm wondering because my BIL and SIL... while they enjoy spending the money on a more expensive carseat, both are loathe to use it correctly..
These people FF'd their kids at 5 and 6 months old, and KNEW that it was not right but did it anyways... also never tightened the straps on their kiddos seats and never top tethered until I had them go to a carseat clinic.... and I think coerced is the word... LOL

So thats why I'm wondering. I tried to make time to check their seats, and every time I do there is something glaringly wrong with installation, or with the way the kids are in.

If it is an aftermarket product I want to tell her before she buys it, otherwise she'll just use it anyways. sigh.

Mmmm, yes, SKJP does make a replacement Princess cover. It's not technically available in Canada as a separate item, so the one they're looking at must have been taken off a new seat, or slightly used off a used seat sort of thing. The Radian (as you know) is such a uniquely shaped car seat, and new enough on our market, that I *doubt* any aftermarket versions are available yet ... though, with that said, these days it wouldn't surprise me if some DIY home based baby gear creationist type person isn't selling some horrid aftermarket cover, way overpriced, on ebay. You never know.

Maybe ask your sil for the link to the ebay ad. Then you can verify that it's the real deal. You could even post it here...

There is a e-bay a seller that sells new Radian covers for 50.00 plus shipping but only in Granite and Champagne. If anyone is interested I have it in my e-bay list somewhere.

If indeed it is a real Princess cover she is getting a good deal.

Ask her for the link. It is possible it is the real thing, but without seeing it we cannot really say for sure.
