Finished my SN CPS class yesterday

Murphy's Law

New member
I'm so glad to have this under my belt now! The class was really useful and had a lot of good information. It was especially good to get my hands on some of the medical seats since I had never seen them in person before. It should also help me out in my job (OT).

The instructors were great and are going to try to help me in the future to figure out a way to safely transport our SMA kids (I say "our" collectively - they're not my kids, but rather kids of our national group). Right now it seems like the modified vest is the most practical and safest way.

Riley has put together a great program and I totally recommend this class if you're interested in SN. :thumbsup:

That's great! :thumbsup::D

Will you primarily be using your knowledge with the national SMA group now?

Well, that will be a big part of it, but I am also a school based OT so I'm going to ask my supervisor if new kids come in who need OT assessments and may have transportation issues, that she pretty please ask for my input!

I think I'm even going to talk to the principal about sending home some general passenger safety handouts, especially with the new booster law in MA, I'm fairly certain 75% or more of our kids over 4 years will not be in compliance with the law.
