Question Triumph Advance Deluxe Convertible Car Seat

Anyone use this carseat for a newborn? I am looking for an affordable safe way to transport LO. Or should I go with an infant car seat and then have to pay as much or almost as much to buy a convertible in a year?

Thanks!!!

This is actually in my opinion one of the better choices for use from birth. The bottom harness position is very low, and the infant padding should cradle all but the tiniest baby fairly well. If you have a small baby though, s/he still may not fit (you want the harness at or below the shoulders rear facing.) In that case you'd want to have access to an infant seat (or have the ability to purchase one immediately) to use until the baby fits the convertible.

If your concern is more that infant seats are quickly outgrown, there are a few with 30 lb limits, and they are all very nice seats. For the small-to-average-sized child you can get anywhere from one to two years out of them.

If you don't mind not having the infant seat to carry around then the Triumph Advance is excellent for a newborn.

Some like the convenience of the carrier, but if that doesn't matter to you, then thats an excellent choice. Used from birth with an average child, you should get almost the full 6 years use out of it(most about 5) :)

Evenflo seats have notoriously low bottom slots... great for newborns... the EFTA is no different... and would work great for a newborn.

We started using our old Triumph when Ruthie was less than 2mo old because she hated the infant seat... she used the bottom slots and her shoulders were already a good bit over them.

Thank you all so much. :thanx!:

My #1 concern is providing the best safety for my LO. Then comes my budget that has recently gotten smaller and having a 3rd child won't help that.

I read that this car seat is good from 19 inches. LO #1 was 19" and #2 was 19 1/2" so I think it will work for us. I will be having a c-section so I will have a few days to see if she fits into this car seat or not and still have time to exchange it if she seems too small.

Again, thank you so much! I think finding the right car seats for each of my children has been one of the toughest decisions I have had! Even picking out names was easier!!! :)

The overall height of the child is not as important as torso height. As long as the baby's shoulders are above the bottom slots (which they almost certainly will be since the EFTA has very low bottom slots) you are fine. The seat is very wide, so for the squishy newborn stage you may need rolled receiving blankets next to the baby for some support. Also, to get the proper 45* recline for a newborn, you will need a rolled towel or pool noodle under the base of the car seat.

Congrats on your new little one
