Help me choose my next seat. Frontier?

Hi, My oldest child is 6 years old and light. He is only a tiny bit over 40 lbs. Currently both he and his 3 year old brother both have Marathons in both cars. (yup, $1000 of car seats between both cars). Our oldest Marathon is due to expire in September (we got the first batch of Marathons) so i need to replace one seat. Youngest son is only around 6 pounds behind his brother. Amongst the other 3 Marathons 2 where purchased new last year after someone hit a parked car (totally that car) into our parked car.

So at this point i am leaning towards the Britax Frontier. I could continue to use it with a harness and then have flexibility if we choose to do the booster seat thing. However none of my cars have the latch system. Both cars are Toyotas.

Also how long would you stay with a 5 point harness?

Thanks
Robin

I would keep him harnessed as long as possible. Most kids outgrow their harnesses long before the weight limit, but I like to keep kids in a 5-point as long as possible.

I think either the Britax Frontier or the Graco Nautilus would be a good choice. Are your son's shoulders still below the top slots on his Marathon? If so, he will have a bit more growing room with either the Frontier or the Nautilus. Then you can use the seat as a booster, as you said. :)

FYI, the Frontier installed pretty easily LBP in my dh's Toyota Sequoia. No way with the SBP, but LBP was in in less than 5 mins.
