Question Who do I call about carseat misuse/no use?

Lately I can't stop my wandering eyes while on the road. While driving, I try really hard not to look. I just focus on my own driving. While DH is driving is another story.

Who do I call in Washington and Oregon state, other than 911?

I call our local police dispatch number. If we are in another city, I call 911.

It is an emergency IMO.

I used to know the non emergency number here in Beaverton, but I can't remember it now. Something you can do is call 911 (if you're on the road and don't have some kind of phone book with you) and ask them for the non emergency number in that area.

PLEASE don't call 911 to ask for a non-emergency #. If you don't have a phone book you can call information from your cell phone.

I talked to two police officers about this and they both said to call 911. They said that calling non-emergency police would not be helpful since it will take too long to dispatch an officer.

That is in my county, though

Same here Patriot. I honestly think it is an emergency when you have a child roaming the back of a van.

By the time you call information they might have already parked, or you lost them.

I'm in Tillamook County, Oregon, and local police and a 911 dispatcher have all assured me that calling 911 is absolutely appropriate in the case of an unrestrained/improperly restrained child. I've only been hassled about it by one misinformed officer, and I have called in a handful of people.
