Yes, I'll admit I'm one of those people who never heard about extended rear facing until sometime this year when my friend introduced me to it. It made so much sense to me I quickly started doing more research and realized, most places still say turn at 1 year and 20 LBS. and that's what you usually hear coming out of a parents mouth...oh they are almost 1 year - I can finally turn them!
Today in BRU I grabbed a free magazine called New Parent and was pleased to discover and article about rear facing until child reaches weight, and the benefits, etc. The article is entitled Car Seat Confidential. It's about choosing the right car seat and using it properly. (mentions the whole no coats or blankets under straps, etc.) This article was awesome. I encourage you to pass it on to any of those confused or out of the loop parents you know out there.
