I have a pink scenera I bought in april. The dom is jan 08. I bought it to rear-face my 3.5 year old dd. She loves the pink, but her short legs are very cramped in the seat. I have the seat out of the car and disassembled, waiting for the new and improved harness from dorel. She's got an evenflo titan right now. She can have her legs straight and just touch the seat back. In the scenera her little legs almost reach the top of the bench.

The nearest Big Lots in 1 hour away. I would like the uptown for the leg room, the padding, the taller shell (dd is obviously a little one- she'd likely last till 5.5 in the uptown), and the 35 pound rear-facing limit.

On the other hand, dd's favorite color is pink. Then again, she is perfectly fine in the blue titan right now and doesn't complain.

Should I sell the scenera and get the uptown? Anyone know how long the sale at big lots lasts?

I wouldn't; I would be saving whatever you can to be prepared for the next seat you need, such as a Nautilus or an Evenflo combination seat if she stays small.

We have a radian dom 11/06. It should be good till 11/14. The child using it will move to a booster in a year or two. 3.5 year old dd weighs 27 pounds, is 34.75 inches tall, and has a 12.5 inch torso. Dh is already pushing to turn dd around due to lack of leg space. The titan she is currently using is only good rear-facing for 2.5 more pounds. Oh and I promised to give it to someone in a week.

It looks like it has 1 inch less of leg room. I guess I better not go to great lengths to get a padded seat with less leg room. Maybe I should just keep dd in the titan until 29 pounds, then move ds into a booster. Not sure I'm ready to do that, though. Oh and I promised the titan to someone... Dd hasn't complained about her legs, but she looks much more comfortable in the titan.

I would put your younger child FFing rather than move an older child to a booster before you need to. FFing with a properly installed and tethered seat at 3.5 is extremely safe. Your children's overall safety will be better with both of them FFing than one RFing, one in a booster.

My older ds is 5. At the rate dd puts on weight it may be a year before she reaches 29 pounds. I think ds would be okay in a booster at age 6. I think anyway. My older kids were in boosters at 4 and 5. (Before I knew better.) I did promise the titan to someone, although I am doubtful that the child is even small enough to use it. The top harness slot is only an inch above my dd's shoulders and she's tiny. The child it was to go to is 4 years old. But, I already have a scenera....

Also, not all Big Lots have them -- I checked at our closest one this morning, and no Uptowns... Not sure if they would give you an accurate answer if you called the store to check, but maybe worth a try.

I voted yes, if you can find one on sale. Having had both, I think the Uptown is definitely worth the extra money if you can afford it. I think it's easier to use, I like the harness adjuster better and cover, well, there is just no comparison there.
