After trying a variety, we've decided..

On the quest for a HWH seat, we've tried the Radian (harness slots not high enough/wacky seatbelt install), Safeguard (DS' knees hang off the edge--the seat isn't very deep, and he's only 4. I can't imagine using it when his legs get longer), and today we tried the Frontier. I really am disappointed it didn't work in our Matrix--I'd have liked to get a seat that converts to a booster. The SBP just didn't get tight enough and the LBP we didn't have enough seatbelt, LOL.

However! We did finally decide on the Regent--with 20" harness slots, I'm guessing he will go right into a LBB from it, and with a serious amount of cramming it does fit in our car. He's a long torso kid so it makes the most sense for us. The legroom is limited but ok. I have to say that this whole process makes me appreciate the Matrix and NOT miss our Forester, LOL. Nothing installed all that nicely in the Forester. So we're putting the Regent in my car, I have a Nautilus for DH's car and I will buy another Nautilus for my parents' car when he outgrows the Wizard they have. I want the Regent in the car he rides in the most, and the Nautiluses (Nautili?) make great 2nd car carseats.

I went to a local AP store that carries Britax seats (as well as cloth diapers, carriers, etc) and if anyone is near me--Bellingham, WA--definitely check out Portable Kid on Cornwall. www.portablekid.com The owner is a carseat tech and is incredibly nice and very helpful. She spent a good 45 minutes helping me with trying out the 2 seats. I paid more than I would have online (retail price +tax) but it was well worth it. Plus I like buying local :D

So--I also want to thank everyone on here for helping me decide and answering my 100000 questions  I really appreciate it. This board is such a big help.

Hey, I'm in Mill Creek...so you're further north, but I adore Bellingham! I could easily move there. Great, great town!
