debating on a Parkway while they're on sale

Here is our sitch.. DS is currently 37lb, 40" tall, 4 years old in 2 weeks. He is harnessed in a Safeguard right now. He just fits in a Marathon, if that gives an idea of his torso height. He is 50th-ish percentile height/weight.

I am thinking about getting a Parkway because it seems like a very reasonable price for a Britax booster. But I wouldn't use it until he wouldn't fit in the Safeguard anymore, and I don't know how long he'll fit in the SG. I estimated 7 years old which might be a tad high. To buy or not to buy.. decisions, decisions..

The parkway has been discontinued so the ones they are selling all have older DOM's. So waiting to use it until your 4yo turns about 7yo already cuts off 3 years of the seats useful life. I just got a new PW I ordered on line for my 5yo as an occassional seat for MIL's car and it had a 9/06 DOM! So it only had 4 years and 4 months of life left in it from the date I purchased it. I did however get a great deal on it so I'm not upset about it. I would hold off and get a booster when he really needs one so you won't be wasting your $. Just my :twocents:.
