Question Kia Spectra and a Regent

I bought a 2008 Kia Spectra the other day (got rid of my fabulously roomy SUV to get better gas mileage). I'm wanting to get my daughter a new car seat and I've done lots of online research, tried out some seats in a couple of stores, asked around, etc. I had decided on either the Britax Regent or Graco Nautilus. Today I bought a Nautilus and did the assembly and sat it in my car while DD was napping. I brought it back into the house and had DD sit in it after she woke up from her nap. No matter how I adjusted it, the head rest caused her head to push down toward her chest too much. I returned the seat to the store and I'm leaning toward getting the Regent now.

Does anybody know how well they fit in a smaller car (the Spectra specifically)? The seat looked huge in the store and I wanted to be sure it would fit well before buying it so we didn't have to return another seat.

Thanks in advance!

How old is your dd? What are her weight and height? Where does she fit in her current seat?

She is 3 years old, 30 inches tall and 30 pounds.

We ERF her until her second birthday because she was preemie and small for her age. She put up a fuss at 2 and we turned her around. She's been in an Evenflo Triumph for a long time and hasn't outgrown it, but it's looking worn and we're going to move out of state next year and I'm looking to get her something new and comfy. I like that the Britax covers can be laundered...that's fabulous!

It IS ginormous, but it'll fit. Getting IN my 2-door VW Golf is... interesting... but once it's in the seat, it's really not bad. It barely sits up higher than the MA, since the MA has the base and the Husky/Regent doesn't.

Nicole, thanks for the lingo info.:)

Debbie, thanks for easing my mind about the Regent's size. I'm gonna copy and paste this post of mine from another thread. I'm pretty excited!

Well, I finally did it. I ordered DD a Regent with the Madison cover from BabyAge today. The grand total was $217.94.

I grilled the lady who answered the phone. I wanted to know if the sale was on because a better product was coming out (she said no). I asked if the seats had a good DOM or if they were trying to unload older ones (she said no). I asked lots of questions and explained that it was just such a great price that it made me wonder what the catch was. This just happens to be the time of the year they have a big sale, and boy am I glad to take advantage of it!

Oh, if anybody is wanting a Madison, she said they only had 6 left after my order. If you're thinking of getting one...grab it while you can.
