3 across in '05 Ford Five Hundred

I meant to post last week: a friend invited Nadia to a class, so her mom came to pick her up. She drives a 2005 Ford Five Hundred. The girls were both 5 years & 40-ish lb, and there was also an 8 year old little boy. I put Nadia's Marathon outboard behind the passenger, her friend was in a FPSVD behind the driver, and I let her borrow Roman's Parkway for her son, and we got that in the center. I just barely managed to fit them 3 across. I think it would have been an easy install, except her DD's seat was installed with LATCH, which pulled it closer to the center of the car and didn't quite leave enough room for the other two seats.

I think the 500 was the new name for the Taurus before they started making them again. Tauruses are great for 3 across, I loved mine!

What carseats in what configuration were you able to do?
I have a FF 4 year old (now in a Britax Roundabout), a FF 6.5 year old (now in a Compass booster), and a newborn on the way (just bought a Graco Snugride for him; but could probably still exchange it) which I need to install rear facing, and tried yesterday and couldn't do it with the Snugride in the middle. The Roundabout is installed with LATCH and due to anchor placement is over a few inches--not all the way over on the bench. Would it be better to install it with a seatbelt and move her over? Or put that in the middle? Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated!

I would try the SR in the middle w/ LATCH and use the RA outboard w/ the seatbelt. How big is your 4yo? Are they under 40# and under the top harness slot on their seat? Moving them into a Radian would free up a lot of room as well.

We did a rfing Alpha Omega, ffing Radian, and rfing Safeseat. I also got a rfing AO next to a rfing Radian too.

Thanks for the suggestions. I tried moving the Roundabout over with a seatbelt instead of LATCH, and putting the Snugride in the middle, which does seem to work, but it it too hard to buckle the booster in, so I think I need to buy a different booster with a harness for my 6 y.o. Any suggestions for a narrow booster (with a back) that has a harness?
My 4 y.o. is very petite, still only about 28 pounds, but tall-ish, so she needs to stay a carseat, not move to a booster.
