Forward Facing Install Question

When installing a seat forward facing, do you have to put the seat as flush with the vehicle seat as possible? I'm wondering b/c I am able to get a good install with the base slightly further out on the seat which gives a bit more recline. Is there a rule about how much of the CR back must be touching the vehicle seat? I know in the True Fit manual it shows a CR that doesn't touch very much of the vehicle seat. Mostly I'm wondering about this with regard to my Blvd install b/c of the headrest pushing DS's head forward. I know that less recline when FFing if better... I"m just thinking that a little extra would help.

Thanks!

Bump... hate to be a nag... but I'm wondering if I should take my TF with me or my Blvd when I leave my mom's house in a hour. I leave one seat here in case we take the train to her house. Once I leave, I can't switch the seat out for at least a month:(

Thanks!

Can you take the headrest off? Britax seats require 80% of the base on the seat, the back part isn't as important as long as it's touching.

The headrest is not blocking the recline but I've stowed the headrest in the down position anyway... The whole base of the seat will be on the vehicle seat either way. I"m assuming then I can bring the base out just a little bit to create a little extra recline.

Sometimes the headrest pushes the top forward, so the back of the car seat can't rest against the vehicle seat back ;) Yes you can bring the base forward, just as long as the base is against the vehicle seat.
