Volvo rear middle seat belt
I have a 1986 Volvo 240 DL Wagon. I've been trying to put a Cosco Alpha Omega in the rear middle seat w/o much luck. The side-to-side play is 4+ inches rather than the 1-2" the instructions say are acceptable. We got the AO for the baby that's on the way. We don't want to have to put the baby's seat in a rear side seat because we have a five year old with friends and might need to get three kids back there; the middle, lap-belt-only seat is no good for kids in boosters.
Because of some of other things I've read & heard about the AO, we're thinking of taking it back anyway. But my question is this: Am I going to have the same problem with sideways movement with any other car seat? I'm thinking that there's something about the seat or belt--the belt's anchors are too widely placed, or something like that maybe. Does anyone have any experience with this? (I'll be checking w/ some of the local installation folks too.)
Thanks,
