question about jackets & car seats

I just have a quick question about jackets....
I know that the big heavy ones are a 'no-no, ' but what about fleece ones?
More specifically, my 14 mo.old DD is still in her infant carrier. We live in WI and it is freezing! She has a little fleece one piece zip-up snow suit. Is it safe to use this. When she was tiny I just piled on the blankets, but now she just flings them off, and then cries because she's cold!

I can't wait until Spring!!!

i have always heard nothing thicker than a blanket sleeper.

That's about how thick the snowsuit is, but it's going over her clothes too???

The general rule is "no thicker than a blanket sleeper" so it all depends on how thick her fleece outfit is.

Papooses has posted some pictures of Leila in a fleece jacket before but I think it was very thin fleece, just enough to get by until the car warmed up

My boys wear coats in the car, but thin ones. Even Evan's snowsuit thingy is just a layer of fleece. Try buckling her in her seat w/ her coat on and then undo her and leave her straps the same. Rebuckle her w/ no coat and see how loose the straps are. If they are still safe, then it's fine for her to wear it. I just try to heat up the car ahead of time, but we've been lucky this year w/ a mild winter. I'm glad I don't have the only 14mos old who still fits in an infant carrier! lol We moved him at 10 mos, but at 20# and maybe 29" he still has lots of room above his head!

Yeah - She's a 'peanut!'

We're going to get her the MA one of these days, but shes still well within the limits of our infant seat, so no huge rush!
