Update to Car Seat Check!!

Well...I went to the police station today & got my Scenera checked! She was actually quite nice, but knew NOTHING about any particular seats. She didn't even know what my seat was! I thought for sure they would know a Scenera, but Nope. She was very nice though. She checked my seat & told me that it was perfect, but uninstalled & got the serial number & DOM off of it. She then pretty much watched me reinstall it with a little bit of help from her. She told me that I really didn't need to worry!

She said she really wasn't sure what I needed checked as I had it in right & perfect from the start! She also told Marrcus, Your Mommy is good at this, she didn't need me! I told her that I needed to have it checked for my peace of mind more than anything!

The only thing she told me that I felt was not good was that it was SAFE to turn him around at anytime now as he was BIG enough & OLD enough! That was the only problem I had with the whole check. I wish she had not of said that at all. The problem with her saying that is that parents that do not know as much as I do might have found a Tech saying that as the Okay to turn their small child FF! So overall it went well & I feel better knowing I have my seat installed properly!

Sounds great overall, actually (she didn't argue with you to FF, so that's very positive, IMO)

Yeah, overall, that sounds great!
I ran into the same thing when I first took my seats for a check. "You can turn that one around" To which I replied that yes, I understood she was of a size to do so, but that I preferred to keep her rf longer. He just kind of looked at me weird.

He didn't necessarily argue that I *should* FF her...but was less than "ideally supportive" in my opinion, of her still being RF.

If I was the one doing the check and someone came in with a 2-3yr old, within the limits, still RF...you can BET I would be ALL OVER congratulating that parent on making that safest choice for their child. Give them credit for doing their research, ya know?

I wish more techs were more vocal about ERF. I know we can't change everyone's minds and as long as the child leaves safe...that's the point. But..I just wish there were more RAVING about ERF and hey, here's an idea...suggesting it to those just past the minimum FF limits. Maybe the parent had never heard of such a thing as 'ERF' ... maybe they just might entertain the idea of turning their 14 month old back rf. IF they knew it was an option ;)

Ok, done with my rant, sorry hehe

Glad your check went well :D

Technically she would be wrong about the ffing if your siggy is right. Cosco seats have a minimum ffing height limit of 34in so he would be under the limit:whistle:

Hmmm....I didn't think about that! Thanks for that! Yes my siggy is correct, so he is under the FF limits! Thanks for letting me in on that one!
