Where to put car seat?

I have a Ford Aerostar and the second row is bucket seats and the last row is a bench. Where should I put the baby? Right now I have her behind the drivers seat, is that ok?

Thanks for the help.

You should put the carseat in the spot that achieves the best installation, first and foremost. After that, it is a matter of convenience (in a sedan or SUV, we would say that the middle position is safest {farthest away from the point of impact}, but the third row is not practical/convenient for most rear-facing newborns). If you have a sliding door on the driver's side (don't know what year your Aerostar is), I would keep baby in the middle row, driver's side captain's chair. If there is only a sliding door on the passenger side, I think I would switch baby to that side.

I would think it would be safer to put the seat on the passenger side of the car otherwise you would have to take the child out of the car on the side of the car where the street is when parallel parking. If the child is on the passenger side then only when parking on a one-way street would you have to stand near traffic to unload the child. Just my thoughts!
