anyone ever doctor up a britax collegiate cover?

i have one that i'd like to put a patch or applique on, over the university embroidery. any suggestions?

if i put on an iron-on patch i probably won't actually iron it on first, but just do a hand stitch (with embroidery floss) all around, maybe doubled, for durability.

if i applique some really cool flannel fabric that i have, should i use a fabric glue to stablize it before hand stitching the border?

Not exactly? I'm still finishing up embroidering some "girly" designs on dd's denim Husky cover, though. It's pretty straightforward, I'm not having any issues with it beyond my personal lack of creative skills.

I say go for it. And I'd probably try to affix the applique or patch or whatever you choose in some way before embroidering around it, but again my embroidering skills aren't all that great - I'd wind up with a crease or a crooked patch!

yeah, even if i get a patch and don't just make my own applique, i think i'll use fabric glue...maybe some stabilizer fabric if i make my own, too. i don't want to do an iron-on because i'm afraid to melt the cover but i'll affix the fabric somehow before stitching
