I posted this in another thread, but thought I'd give it it's own thread.

My Montereys DO have 22 inch top belt guide settings!!
When I got them yesterday I was quite disappointed that they weren't THAT much taller than the TBs, but then I realized there was a taller setting I was missing..
It was VERY difficult to pull the headrest all the way up! I actually completely removed and reinstalled it to get it to slide easily all the way to the top setting!!

VERY NEAR 22" TOP BELT GUIDES!!

THE NECK FROM THE BACK: FULLY EXTENDED IS 7" TALL

The whole bottom row of squares (1.5 inches!) was stuck inside the back piece.....

I myself only have a 23 inch torso, so I expect my kids will be able to use them high-backed for a LONG TIME!!

You made me curious and I have a 22.5 in torso. I might be able to keep my kids boostered until they graduate. Probably not, their dad is pretty tall. Plus it'll still be awhile before they are in boosters.

Can I just say I love looking at your seats.

My torso is 22 inches. My 8 year old's is 16 inches. I think we can make it to booster till 18! I want a booster for myself. They look safe.

Thanks :D. I did actually sit in DDs seat . It's REALLY comfy! and only a little bit too short for me! (though I could totally use it backless  ).

Okay I was juuust about to click 'complete order' on a Parkway because I was convinced that the Parkway/Monterey were the same height. I was even going to ignore the huge leg support difference, but now you've renewed my booster agony. Thanks alot! ;):p

Okay, I think I'm back to the '2 Monterey's to follow the Regent/Husky' plan. Man that's a nice booster!

I'd love to see if the other Monterey owners could replicate your results! :D That would lock me in for sure. (Um, unless the new Clek HBB turns out to be fantabulous ;))

DH got it to go up like you did. but to be honest i don't think it's supposed to do that. i had a hell of a time to lower it again too (DH had to do it & it was TOUGH) every other position of the headrest is easy as pie to adjust. I would think that all those positions should be relatively the smae to adjust. i don't think that is an appropriate headrest position & until someone at SK tells us it's OK i won't be using it that way

From the Monterey manual:

WARNING: If headrest is adjusted to maximum height and child's shoulder height is closer than 1 cm to the upper belt guide, child is too tall and the seat can only be used a(s) backless booster.

Does that mean (in my pics it looks like) that I could use them until 22.5 inch torso height?

I would call SK and verify. Boosters don't generally have a top position that is unusable. If it's going that high, it's probably safe to use... especially since SK has already reported it as having 22" torso height belt guides.

I didn't have any trouble getting either of mine back in.. or adjusting it afterwards. I'm planning a call to SKJP tomorrow about my Radians, I'll ask while I'm on with them.

My thoughts exactly.

Just for giggles, could anyone post a picture of an adult in this booster seat? I'm just trying to imagine myself fitting into the seat. Especially width wise.

The link to a pic that Russ sent a member there... Looks just like mine. I wouldn't think he'd send out mis-use pictures...JMO though

we were tryin to figureout how in the world he got to show that it was higher than ours. it made no sense. tho it does look like the ruler is crooked on the seat- leaning to the our left. so perhaps it was in that very tallest position afterall. i kept trying to bring it up & lower it agian several times now & i've gotten the hang of it for the most part. not easy like the other positions are but doable. so THANK YOU for the discovery. i would have never thought to tug so hard on the headrest. pretty darn cool. i HOPE SK says OK!
