For those of you with RAs

I just installed my new RA. When I grabbed the seat to check to see if it was a solid install, the seat slid sideways a bit, but without the base. Where the seat meets the base, my seat will slide side to side a bit on the rod that attaches them. (at the upside down "V" there is a black "cap" on each side that I assume has a rod between- that is what moves- caps and all) Is this normal? I checked my MA and it doesn't budge a bit on the connection.

It is RF with LATCH- the base is rock solid, but the seat slides on the rod that connects it to the base. I'm thinking there is an issue with it! It's like when you put together a child's tractor, for example, and when you put the wheel on and don't push the two end caps on far enough, the wheel will just slide back and forth between the caps.

My RA does this too. I've been wondering about it also! My BV doesn't. RA is rear facing with seatbelt install.

My FPSVD (made by Britax) moves on the base about 1/4", and I've heard of other FPSVD owners whose seats did the same. No one was ever able to find out whether it was a problem. Personally, I'm comfortable using the seat and have been using it for about 6 months since I first noticed the slight movement.

I think this might be the new design. When Sarah (from Britax) talked about safety updates she talked about the bar. Call Britax Monday. I'm sure they can explain way better than I can.

I've owned 1 Roundabout, 2 Marathons, and 1 Boulevard. I remember that one of the seats did that, but I was not concerned about it. I don't even remember which seat it was.
