I had posted on my facebook account about the Combi infant seat recall a while back, and a friend of mine just wrote me a reply, but I'm not sure how to respond to it, and was hoping you guys could help me....

Are repaired car seats as safe as new? Why are we, who are not trained to do so, expected to repair the seat with a repair kit?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Yes. They are as safe as new. Safer since the recall has been fixed.

If the recall was difficult and required any technical knowledge, it wouldn't be sent as a repair kit, the seats would be replaced. Follow the instructions carefully and the seat will be perfectly safe. If you have concerns, take it to your local tech to check your repair.

That's what I'd say. Recall fixes aren't very difficult and come with very detailed instructions (the ones I've done/seen). HTH!

Edit: Although, my first thought was..."If you can get to 3rd Grade on 'Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader', you can repair it. :ROTFLMAO:
