Nautilus Misuse

OK, I thought my friend was nuts when she/her husband did this, but I just saw another Graco Nautilus at the mall the same way.

THEY TOOK THE HEAD REST OFF OF THE NAUTILUS and were using the seat without the headrest!! I don't know where or how anyone could think that was right - even if you only look at the pictures on the box, all of them have the headrest in place.

How easy does that piece come off?

I just got one and thought the same thing (not that it could be used without it but that others would THINK it could be used without it.) It looks like a regular car seat. I suppose if you put a shorter child in it who wouldn't benefit from the headrest anyway, no harm would come from it, but sheeesh!

Actually, the only place the seat has EPS is in the headwings. If they're not on...

Duh - Back to the basics:

1) Look at the picture.

2) Read the manual.

But, having put one together, I find it hard to believe anyone would disregard the piece (like thinking the foam in the bottom of a Britax seat is packing material) and/or think it wasn't necessary.

It's not like it's tiny or an accessory like a cup holder that clips on the side.

I could "almost" understand if it was like the True Fit but you have to put the back on the base. . .
