Britax tethers

Is there a reason why they're 'doubled' like they are?
Just wondering!

I just try not to answer questions that aren't asked.

Britax's stand is a) to make it easier when tethering RF and b) to further spread out the crash forces and evenly hold the seat back from the sides, versus jerking it back from the middle.

The real reason is so that people who drive Subarus have tons of straps blocking their rear view mirror so they crash and have to buy more seats.

Those that drive Ford Escapes, too. I can't stand having a ff tethered Britax in the middle of my car, since the anchors are on the ceiling. Brilliant.

The v-shaped tether, the Versa Tether, is designed to spread the crash forces. It is one of the reasons Britax seats can tethered rf. The Radian also has a v-shaped tether, hence being able to be tethered rf.

See, I didn't realize that was the critical difference for RF tethering. Cool.

I'm not entirely sure that IS the only feature that allows RF tethering, though...the Sit N Stroll used to be tetherable RF and it had a single strap...

I suspect it's probably just more stable to have a 'PATENTED VERSA TETHER!!!!' (Britax is proud of it, lol) than a single strap...the more points of connection, the more solid the install, really.
