Does anyone know what the adult seat belt usage figure is for adult rear seat passengers in America?
I know that the majority of states do not require that adult rear seat passengers where seat belts. I also know that several european countries provide front and back seat seat belt usage statistics, and that rear seat passengers even in areas where required by law are about 30 percent less likely to wear seat belts than would a driver or front seat passenger.
Does this same trend occurs in America? I am wondering because I have seen many seat belt campaigns, but none seem too target rear seat passengers. Is this not a problem in America, or are we trying to focus on getting people to use their belts in the front seat where the chance of Injury is much greater than in the rear seat.
