DC is 4, 40" tall, slender build. I want him to harness as long as possible. I *must* have a seat that can go back and forth between our cars without having to take half an hour to install it. I have read both manuals and I can't make my mind up. Please help!

What kind of cars do you have, and how often do you plan on moving the seat?

If you plan on moving it often, I would probably advise against a Regent. It *can* be tricky to install, and even when it's easy, the seat is huge and heavy, and not fun to move around.

I haven't installed or lifted (or even seen in person) a Frontier yet, so I can't comment on that.

If you'll be moving the seat often, you might want to look into the Graco Nautilus. You can get two of them for about the price of one Regent or Frontier, and then you could have one in each car. The specs are about the same as the Frontier.

I had the Frontier and decided to return it before they announced that LBP was acceptable for installation! I would have returned anyway as I didn't feel it was going to give very long torso ds enough time in the harness. I purchased the regent and I am pleased that he will have more room to grow in the harness and then I will purchase a dedicated booster! Both of these seats are heavy and difficult to install IMO. Not anything like the other Britax seats we have owned!... I don't have the GN but from what I have read it's a much easier install and you can almost buy 2 for the price of 1 Britax. I am not suggesting that you not buy Britax, but you may want to consider the installs of these large seats as I personally won't be removing ds regent unless I absolutely have to! You may also consider buying a britax for your main car and then the GN for the secondary car if this is an option as far as money goes. Our ds likes the regent better than he did the Frontier but I am sure others like the Frontier better. Kids will prefer seats for many different reasons! The frontier takes up less space from side to side and both hang off the front of the seat due to the recline bar or the rotating recline piece on the bottom of the frontier. Both o f the britax seats have their own advantages and disadvantages! The Frontier had TSIP but the Regent has higher harnessing capabilities. The frontier may be easier to install with LBP but I can't comment because I never tried that with the Frontier! I hope this helps!
