Selling Used Seats

I recently posted about buying our next set of seats for DH's truck. We wound up ordering 2 Radian 65's after trying them out at Right Start. We ordered them through Sunshine Kids a week ago and have yet to get a shipping confirmation...nor can I get anyone there to answer the phone!!

Anywho...now we have 2 Britax Boulevards sitting in the garage. I was wondering what the consensus is on selling used seats. They're in great shape, don't expire for a while (can't remember the exact date) and haven't been in any accidents, etc. It makes me a little scared to sell these just based on liability issues. But they're SO nice and cost us a bundle...so I can't decide. Any advice???

Selling used seats is fine. Buying used carseats, OTOH, is where caution needs to be used. I have sold some of my seats when we've gotten new cars and the seats didn't fit, or the needs have changed but the seat is still good.

Well, that is one of those loaded questions.

Used seats are bad bad bad (unless you have gotten from a TRUSTED source, as in, someone you trust your child's life with) so that really narrows down the used seats you could buy.

However, their are always going to be people who will buy used seats and I know my seats are perfectly safe so I don't mind selling them (at least I know that this seat is safe for use, who knows about the other used seat this person might buy)

It really boils down to what you are comfortable with.

I sold our Blvd on Ebay! I felt bad because it was as if I was doing expecting someone to buy a used seat that they know nothing about it and I certainly would never have bought a used seat off of ebay for my son! I have to agree with the above poster, at least the person who purchased it got a very safe seat that was in perfect condition and I know has never been in a wreck! It just felt like I was asking someone to do something I wouldn't do myself and that goes against everything I believe! In this case I think it's ok as long as you know the seat is safe!!
