Can I store my LATCH connectors here...?

I know that the new MA covers don't have LATCH pouches and you're supposed to store the LATCH connectors in a cubby hole. I just took apart my '06 MA and see that there are cubby holes on the inside of the shell, behind the foam. Are those holes the same as the ones you're supposed to use on the newer MA's? I'm getting a new cover that might not have the pouches, so I'm wondering if I can use those holes instead. The LATCH connector fits flush in there, and its belt lays flat against the shell (since it's still connected to the bar outside the shell).

ETA: D'oh, they're called LATCH connectors, not anchors!
