Hello. I bought a Marathon a year ago from Target. Love it to death! I used it in my van. Now, I don't longer have a van, we used to have two cars but now one car, that's my husband's blazer. I don't know when I will have my own vehicle again. So, marathon is too big for Blazer with three kids in back. I'm thinking of selling Marathon to get a slimmer carseat. Any slimmer carseats. I love colors but willing to sacrafice the colors for more safer carseats with no colors but gray, black, whatever is out there. I don't know if I should hold on Marathon. Have not used it for three months now. Please help me make decisions with whether to get a slimmer carseat. Oh, my dd's 16 months old and about 24lbs now still rf in her FPSE, FPSE is expiring soon. Thats why looking for other carseats.

Thanks,Amy

The Sunshine Kids Radian 65 is the slimmest on the market. It can be difficult to install in some cars though.

It's the same seat (the 80 and 65 are)...the 80 just has a higher weight limit and infant padding, but the seat shell is the same :)

Will Radian fit in my dh's blazer? I remember that there were a website about vehicles and carseats. I can't remember the name.

(Carseat Data website closed - link broken) hosts the online carseat-vehicle compatibility database. It's a helpful reference, but it's not comprehensive of all seat-vehicle combinations because the entries are submitted voluntarily by parents/techs/caregivers who installed or tried to install the seat in the particular car. There's also a successful Radian installation thread here on the forum that you could peruse to see if anyone reported success in your vehicle:

Thank you Susan! I was just going to ask this myself. An s-10 Blazer before 2002 (when they changed to the TrailBlazer body style) prohibits the use of a child restraint in the center. Since it's only a lap belt, it renders that space pretty much useless.:twocents:

How old are your other kids? Are they in seats? That would make a big difference. As the PP mentioned, the middle space might not work for anyone. This is something you should look into as soon as possible. It is very dangerous to have a child sitting in a lap belt only. Maybe someone can post links to crash test videos or some information on why you shouldn't. I can't do it right now.

Oh boy! No Wonder. I have been using FPSE in the center. It was not fitting right at all! Ok.. Which side would be better to put it in? I put it in the center only because two other sisters always fight with each other.. They have to learn how to get along sometimes right?! LOL.

Thanks very much for your words of advices.

The difference between the two sides is minimal as far as safety goes, but I am concerned about anyone being in the center with a lap belt only. I know it may not be an option, but I would seriously consider not using this car for 3 kids if it's at all possible.
One POSSIBLE option (someone with more vest experience, chime in here) would be to buy one of the vests. It might make it okay to use in a lap only situation.
