Chevrolet Impala?

I am looking at trading in my Chevy Trailblazer for a car that gets some better gas mileage. With gas prices the way they are, it's killing me.

Anyone have any feelings on the Chevy Impala? Probably an 06 or 07 model would be what I'm looking for.

I owned one for about 2 years. I traded my gas hog Ford Explorer for a 2000 model. It was great on gas and rode smooth. We had problems with ours after about 40,000 miles, but I found out we were not alone. The transmission started going out on us.:( As long as you get one of the newer models like you said the 06 or 07 you should be good to go. I know they put a different motor in the newer ones as opposed to the first ones that came out. But overall I loved my Impala.:) I really was sad the day in was involved in a wreck and a total loss!....

my dh has an '06. loves it. smooth ride, easy for carseats, latch in all 3 rear positions. has kinda big blind spots for backing up/changing lanes. good gas milage. nice pickup driving. my mom also has one (the twins lol) and she has had some problems with the steering, it would "skip" through a low speed turn, they are fixing it under warranty, so be on the lookout for that. overall he likes it. comfy drivers seat. i drive it once in awhile, and it handles nice, much better than my elantra. (course i would expect that) good luck!

I have an 08 and LOVE it. I'm not sure when they changed model type...06 or 07. Car seat installs excellent (I have a marathon). Gas mileage is great. I would highly recommend it. I switched from a minivan and dh has an explorer and this is our fav.
